Nigel Roberts of Blackwell Hydraulics was delighted that all seven depots located throughout North Wales had recently been awarded the BFPDA Approved Hose Assemblies Mark. For six months the company had been working hard to achieve this award which puts it in a very strong position in the hose industry.
The BFPA Hose Assembly Technology (HAT) scheme is currently in development with affiliated, major hose and connector manufacturers/distributors.
It is expected that some, if not all of these companies, will be in a position to offer HAT training to their own customers by Autumn 2008, and later to independent users of hose and connectors.
The Association is talking to manufacturers of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) as a means of "labelling" hoses. We would be very interested to hear from suppliers/users regard thought and/or experiences with this technology.
